I was lucky to be a part of documenting the APGA tour for CBS Sports when they came through New Orleans for a day at TPC Louisiana, a beautiful golf course located directly next door to an amateur racetrack. Normally this would be a huge problem for sound, but I brought along a set of of Sanken CS2 and CS3e shotgun mics which allowed me to almost completely isolate the subtle sounds of golf from the roaring engines across the treeline. Listening back, you’d never even know they were there.
